Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes will be suiting up at the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field for the first time in his career.

While the MVP winning quarterback has visited the home of the Green Bay Packers in the past, he has never played there.

Kansas City has only played there twice since Mahomes has been drafted. Once was in the preseason, where he never took the field and the other was in 2019 when a knee injury kept him on the sidelines.

But now on Sunday Night Football, the Chiefs will head to Wisconsin in Mahomes' first game there.

'I'm extremely excited for it,' Mahomes said of playing at Lambeau in his Wednesday press conference. 'I've watched it my whole entire life, and I know it's going to be a hostile environment; the fans are going to be loud, it's going to be a lot like Arrowhead is to other teams like you're saying.

Before the game, Mahomes praised the Packers and their new QB Jordan Love

Mahomes and the Chiefs will be hoping to continue their win streak after beating the Raiders

'I'm excited, if you love football, you love Lambeau Field. I'm excited to get the opportunity to play there.'

The game should be a good one - with the Packers having hit a good run of success as of late by beating the Los Angeles Chargers and the Detroit Lions to improve to a 5-6 record.

Mahomes has taken advantage of scouting the Packers' NFC North rivals - who the Chiefs have all played this year - in order to get a good understanding of what Green Bay will throw at them.

'[Packers QB] Jordan [Love] has gotten better and better every single game,' Mahomes said.

'He's always had the talent, but when you get more and more reps — I mean he didn't play for three years basically — so he's gotten more and more reps, you can see how much more comfortable he's getting.

'They have playmakers everywhere, and their defense can play. … It will be a great challenge for us, and they're a hot football team that just beat another great football team so they have confidence coming in.

'We've got to match that confidence and try to find a way to win a football game.'

Kansas City is only on a one-game winning streak - beating the Raiders last Sunday after being beaten by the Eagles the week prior.
