Phil Taylor has revealed he would be open to mentoring Luke Littler following the teenage darts sensation's stunning emergence.

Littler burst onto the darts scene with a stunning run to the World Championship final at the start of the year as a 16-year-old.

'The Nuke' was beaten by Luke Humphries in the final, but has since gone on to win the Bahrain Masters and the Belgian Darts Open.

Taylor, the record 16-time world champion, said he would be open to working with Littler but revealed the teenager would have to give up his Playstation.

'I couldn't do it like most people do it, I'd have to be hands on,' Taylor told Online Darts.

Phil Taylor has claimed he would be opening to mentoring teenage sensation Luke Littler

Taylor claimed Littler would have to give up his PlayStation if he was to mentor him

'Everything would be there for you and I'd be knocking at your door at 10 in the morning.

'Luke wouldn't be playing on his PlayStation and I could improve Luke one hundred per cent, no trouble.

'I say hundred per cent, when he's on form I couldn't make him any better.'

Taylor had previously mentored Adrian Lewis, who went on to claim the world title on two occasions.

The 63-year-old has also admitted he has been impressed with Littler's attitude after emerging on the scene.

'I like his attitude towards the game and I like that he's got that little bit of a needle when he gets beat,' Taylor said.

'Some people call it arrogance, it's nothing to do with that. The lad knows his ability and knows he can do better.

'Anyone who knocks him is an idiot.'

Littler secured a first win of the Premier League Darts season last week in Belfast, with the result seeing the 17-year-old rise to second in the overall standings.
