Philippe Clement insists his stuttering Rangers side can still win the league despite their latest title lapse in Dundee.

A 0-0 stalemate in Wednesday night's rearranged game at Dens Park made it one win from the last five Premiership games for the faltering Ibrox side.

Critical of his team's display in a 3-1 defeat to Ross County on Sunday Clement believed Rangers to win all three points against a dogged Dundee side challenging for Europe.

Clement's side are now three points adrift of arch rivals Celtic with five games to play.

Insisting Rangers can still do it despite a run of two wins from their last eight games Clement admits the light blues might need to win all five.

Rangers manager Philippe Clement insists his side still have a great chance to win the title

Rangers were unable to break down Dundee on Wednesday night in a 0-0 draw

'I still believe that. I was maybe the only one in Glasgow who believed that in October, probably the only one of the all town who believed that.

'We are now six months later and if we win all our games then there is a really big possibility for that. I think that is already a big step forward and I believe in these players, this group, because I have seen what they have done this season already. They can do it again.

'I said when we were winning the games, I said the same that I would look at the end. OK, you guys point out the ranking a lot. I know we need maybe to win five games to do that. We still have our own fate in our hands.

'Of course it is frustrating because you want to win, of course. You see the team gives everything for that. There was only one team who deserved to win this evening if you see the possession and the chances. It is frustrating if you have those things and don't have the points.'

Booed from the pitch by a travelling support of 4000 fans Clement appealed to the Rangers diehards to stand by their team ahead of Sunday's Scottish Cup semi-final against Hearts

'They need to stick with the team. That is super important.

'It is winning together and losing points together. I know as a fan you have the emotions and for sure after the game.

'But they have been great the last couple of months and pushing the team over difficult moments. That is what I expect also in this situation. '

Addressing fresh accusations of mental fragility Clement shot down suggestions that his players might be feeling the pressure.

'No, I don't think so. I don't think it has anything to do with that. We were the only team to deserve this result this evening in the possession, in the chances also.

'But you need to put the ball against the net.

'And you also need some luck sometimes.

'I know from journalists, for fans, that sometimes they're only looking at the result.

Clement admitted his side might need to win their five remaining fixtures

'It's not easy against a team who play man making all over the pitch and follow you…even if you go to the toilet.

'But, those are not excuses.'

Chasing fifth place in the league and a crack at European football next season Tony Docherty challenged his opposite number's claim that Rangers were the only team who deserved to win the game.

'You watched the game and I would strongly disagree with that.

'We have got results that have been a reward for the focus shown and I thought tonight Rangers had a lot of possession, but I never thought they troubled us.'

Amadou Bakayoko was denied the only goal of the game by an offside flag in the first half, Docherty adding:

'I think Scott Tiffoney should score from the first half free kick when Bakayoko was offside.

'So the icing on the cake would have been the goal to win it but I felt in and out of possession our play merited a clean sheet against a very talented Rangers side with huge motivation.'

'I thought it was, again, a really fantastic performance by the team.
