An 18-year-old who died after his kayak capsized has been pictured as his family pay tribute to the 'kind and thoughtful' teenager.

Cory Chilvers died on July 28 after his inflatable kayak capsized in Wiggenhall St Germans, Norfolk.

Police confirmed they had discovered a body in the water at Middle Level Main Drain near King's Lynn yesterday following extensive searches.

Cory's family issued a tribute to him today although formal identification of the body is yet to take place.

In a statement, they said: 'We would like to pay tribute to our son, our first heartbeat, Adam's big brother, Brianna's love, grandson, nephew, cousin and to our friend Cory Chilvers, who we lost tragically on July 28.

'We will always remember him as a kind, loving, funny and thoughtful man who was dedicated to his family, Brianna and his animal family; Alma, horse DeeDee, dog Nylah and cat Sooty.

'He was a great friend to so many and touched the lives of many more. He will be forever missed by all who knew him.'

Emergency services involved in the search included specialist dogs, Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service and Lowland Search and Rescue. 

A specialist underwater search team from the Metropolitan Police joined the search on Monday. 

The cordon, which had been in place while officers investigated the circumstances of the death, has now been lifted.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained but not suspicious and a file will be passed to the coroner.

A Norfolk Police spokesman said: 'While formal identification is yet to take place the family of the missing teenager have been informed and are receiving support.'
