Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane returned to north London to score his customary goal against Arsenal as the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie ended 2-2 on Tuesday.
The former Tottenham Hotspur player, so often Arsenal's nemesis in north London derbies, stroked home a penalty in the 32nd minute as the Bundesliga side came from behind to lead 2-1.
Premier League leaders Arsenal, playing in their first Champions League quarter-final for 14 years, had gone in front early on with a clinical Bukayo Saka strike. But Arsenal were stunned as their former striker Serge Gnabry levelled six minutes later and then Kane rolled home his 39th goal of the season in all competitions after Leroy Sane was fouled in the box.
Arsenal will head to Bavaria for next week's second leg full of hope though after substitute Leandro Trossard equalised in the 76th minute to leave the tie hanging in the balance.
Mail Sport's ISAAN KHAN rated the players on Tuesday night.

ARSENAL
DAVID RAYA: 5.5
Was left in no man's land for Bayern's opening goal after rushing out of his area. A poor decision. That had a knock-on effect on his side.
BEN WHITE: 6.5
Well-weighted pass for Bukayo Saka's goal. Should have scored after 16 minutes with a great one-on-one chance against Manuel Neuer, but made a vital interception on 35 minutes.
WILLIAM SALIBA: 5.5
Committed four fouls in the first half and gave away a penalty. He is much better than this display.
GABRIEL: 5.5
Not to his usual standards. His errant pass created Bayern their opportunity for the first goal. Shook off an elbow to the neck by Harry Kane in the second half.
JAKUB KIWIOR: 5.5
Leroy Sane gave him a world of trouble down that left flank. Substituted at half-time.
Defender Jakub Kiwior was hooked at half-time after being run ragged by Leroy Sane
MARTIN ODEGAARD: 6.5
Controlled much of Arsenal's play in first half, and started the move for the opening goal. Though his influence was stifled in second period.
JORGINHO: 6
Started strongly but began to be overrun later in the match.
DECLAN RICE: 6.5
Was everywhere in midfield in an energetic display. But couldn't grab the game by the scruff of its neck.
BUKAYO SAKA: 8
Well-taken goal. Took some clever corners, too. Often looked a threat.
KAI HAVERTZ: 6.5
Set-up White with a great chance after 16 minutes. Could have been more active at times.
Arsenal defender William Saliba was at fault for the Bayern penalty and had a night to forget
GABRIEL MARTINELLI: 7
A livewire each time he had the ball in space. One of the Gunners' main threats. Though should have received more of it.
SUBSTITUTES:
OLEKSANDR ZINCHENKO: 7.5
His Champions League experience came through. Added impetus to his team.
GABRIEL JESUS: 7
Provided an assist for Leandro Trossard. A solid cameo.
LEANDRO TROSSARD: 7.5
Clinically took his chance to score. What a crucial goal.
Winger Bukayo Saka scored Arsenal's first goal in the 12th minute and was a constant threat
Manager: MIKEL ARTETA 6.5
Two of his substitutions combined to score. Will be relieved to salvage the draw.
Referee: GLENN NYBERG 6
Missed a couple of incidents.
