Manchester United's miserable season continued as Arsenal walked out of Old Trafford with a vital 1-0 win to keep their title bid alive.
Erik ten Hag's side were undone in the first half when a Casemiro error allowed Kai Havertz to stay onside, before he cut it back to a razor sharp Leandro Trossard.
United played well for large spells of the game but did not do anywhere near enough to trouble David Raya in the Arsenal goal.
Alejandro Garnacho was a willing runner but United are now four points adrift of their worst ever Premier League points tally with two games remaining.

MANCHESTER UNITED (4-2-3-1)
Andre Onana - 6
Aimless pass out from the back was one of a number of team mistakes for Arsenal’s opening goal. Delivered two brilliant saves to deny substitute Gabriel Martinelli and Declan Rice late on.
Diogo Dalot - 6.5
Looked confident early on when he made a surging run that broke the lines in the 14th minute. Kept Bukayo Saka quiet which is no mean feat and was a constant offering going forward.
Jonny Evans - 6
Lax in possession at times and didn’t close down Havertz quick enough for the goal. Far bigger problems with United than Jonny Evans’ performances, though.
Casemiro - 5
Lazy in getting up to the rest of the defensive line which in turn played Kai Havertz on side for the opening goal. Has taken a lot of criticism this week but he doesn’t help himself.
Casemiro was again culpable of another major error as he continues to play at centre back
Aaron Wan-Bissaka - 5
Another frustrating afternoon for the right back. He lost sight of Leandro Trossard for the opening goal and offered very little protection to an already vulnerable Casemiro.
Sofyan Amrabat - 7
Given much of his loan spell has been disastrous, this was a good showing by the Moroccan. Boundless energy to get up and down the pitch and added that physicality to the midfield that was glaringly absent in the mauling at Crystal Palace.
Kobbie Mainoo - 6
Continues to be asked to press high, leaving gaping holes in midfield, and that’s on the manager. Needs to do more to take control of big games like this in years to come.
Alejandro Garnacho - 6.5
Relatively well shackled by Ben White and his corner delivery left a lot to be desired but he never stops trying. Still only 19 and will continue to get better and better.
Alejandro Garnacho (right) never stops trying but his decision-making was off in final stages
Scott McTominay - 5
Returned from injury and took the captain’s armband but this was a game that passed him by. Offered very little creativity in the No 10 role.
Amad Diallo - 7
United’s brightest player in what was his first Premier League start since 2021. One of the few that actually looked like making something happen before he was withdrawn.
Rasmus Hojlund - 6
Lost his footing at a crucial moment when put through by a Thomas Partey mistake. A willing runner but he continues to get such little service.
MANAGER: Erik ten Hag - 6
Was left shaking his head at Casemiro’s mistake and that ultimately cost them the game. There was plenty of encouraging moments in this performance but it’s yet enough defeat. Pressure builds.
Pressure continues to build on Erik ten Hag despite a display that had encouraging moments

ARSENAL (4-3-3)
David Raya - 6
Had very few saves to make thanks to his defence making a number of key stops. Will have been grateful that United failed to find their composure in the final third. Booked.
Had little to do except pick up a yellow card in the final moments to run the clock down
Takehiro Tomiyasu - 6
Had his hands full with Amad Diallo but was solid enough to stop United getting too much joy down his flank. Offered little going forward.
Gabriel - 6.5
Looked uncomfortable at times trying to work out how best to mark Hojlund, but another clean sheet chalked up is nothing to be sniffed at.
William Saliba - 7
Did brilliant with a sliding challenge on Garnacho inside his own area on the one occasion he did escape Ben White. Absolutely brilliant defender and he continues to be a difference maker in this title race.
Ben White - 7
Had the hardest assignment in shackling Alejandro Garnacho but he did it well. Restricted the Argentine to very, very little.
Declan Rice - 6
Got away with a reckless back-pass in the early exchanges but soon settled down. Not his normal self in being able to dictate play, though.
Declan Rice (left) was not his usual effective self but he won't mind after Arsenal got the win
Thomas Partey - 5
Scruffy and at times too casual on the ball. Was fortunate that Rasmus Hojlund didn’t punish his carelessness early on. Looked the weak link for Arsenal.
Martin Odegaard - 5.5
A very quiet afternoon from the Norwegian. Manchester United deserve credit for limiting him to a spectator for the most part.
Leandro Trossard - 7.5
Four goals in the last five for Trossard now after he reacted quickest to Havertz’s flashed ball across the box. One of the key pillars to this title bid and he delivered the huge goal that keeps the title race alive.
Kai Havertz - 7
Gave Evans and Casemiro a headache as he would drop deep and leave them confused as to whether to push up. Delivered the assist for Trossard’s goal.
Kai Havertz caused United's centre backs a headache by dropping deep and got the key assist
Bukayo Saka - 6
Cut a frustrated figure as he failed to get much change out of Diogo Dalot. Started brightly but faded. Booked.
MANAGER: Mikel Arteta - 7.5
Looked as nervous as each of those Arsenal supporters after his players failed to put distance between themselves and United. Deserves credit for his tactics in closing it out and the title race continues for another few days at least.
