Burnley's relegation from the Premier League has been confirmed with a 2-1 loss at Tottenham - while Spurs remain in the hunt for the top four.
While Spurs have kept their top four hopes alive, the Clarets are down for the second time in three years after an abysmal, toothless campaign.
Jacob Bruun Larsen gave Burnley hope when he scored the opener after 25 minutes but Pedro Porro restored parity seven minutes later.
Ange Postecoglou's side pushed on and their persistence was rewarded in the second half when Micky van de Ven slotted home. This was no vintage performance but they got the job done and are four points off Aston Villa.
Mail Sport's Aadam Patel brings the player ratings from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Burnley's relegation from the Premier League has been confirmed with a 2-1 loss at Spurs
This was a fairly average Tottenham performance but they came from behind to keep their Champions League hopes alive
Tottenham (4-2-3-1)
Guglielmo Vicario - 6
His defence didn’t help him at Anfield last week and was kept busy here as he was forced into a top save early on to deny Vitinho.
Could do nothing to stop Burnley’s opening goal and it’s now over two months since Spurs last kept a clean sheet.
Pedro Porro 7
Speaks volumes that Kieran Tripper is the only defender to be directly involved in more Premier League goals this season than Porro.
The right-back’s goal was superb here and though he must work on the defensive side of his game, attackingly there is little doubt about what he offers. Always exciting to watch and came close to scoring again in the second half.
Cristian Romero - 6
Highlighted in the pre-match programme that this is still a young Spurs side, with many playing in their first Premier League season.
This is only his second in the top-flight and after a tough outing last week, this win and performance will have done the Argentine a world of good.
It has now been two months since Tottenham last kept a clean sheet, although Guglielmo Vicario could do nothing for Burnley's opener
Pedro Porro was superb, scoring the opening goal, and is always exciting to watch
Micky van de Ven - 7
With Oliver Skipp at left-back and regularly drifting into midfield, Ange Postecoglou must have felt that Van de Ven’s pace would cover him whenever Burnley countered but he could do nothing to come across and stop Burnley taking the lead through Jacob Bruun Larsen.
On the whole, had a comfortable game and topped off with a superb finish to give Spurs the three points.
Oliver Skipp - 5
Back in the side after an impressive cameo off the bench at Anfield last week.
He was certainly better in the role than Emerson Royal, who he replaced, but this experiment as an emergency left-back ultimately failed and Skipp was at fault for letting Bruun Larsen run clear for the goal.
Booked in the second-half before he was replaced by Radu Dragusin in the 75th minute.
Micky van de Ven produced a fine run and finish to score Spurs' second goal and seal Burnley's fate
Oliver Skipp failed in his role as an emergency left-back - but he was better than Emerson!
Yves Bissouma - 5
You get the feeling that he needs this season to end. Had a great start to the campaign but in recent weeks has looked tired and much less involved in the game. Replaaced in the 75th minute for Rodrigo Bentancur.
Pape Matar Sarr - 6
The 21-year-old will form a crucial part of this Spurs side next season but apart from a few encouraging runs through the centre and a late chance, Sarr had a quiet game.
Dejan Kulusevski - 5
Had a poor first-half down the left flank where he was wasteful with the ball.
Then switched sides at half-time with Brennan Johnson and was a much-improved second-half display, before he was taken off for Dane Scarlett in the 75th minute.
James Maddison - 6
Like Skipp, back in the side after a decent display off the bench at Anfield. Was full of energy and brilliant with his link-up play but will be disappointed that he failed to get on the scoresheet, missing two brilliant chances.
Booked in the second half and taken off in the 88th minute to a standing ovation.
Dejan Kulusevski was wasteful in the first half but did improve after the break when he switched sides
James Maddison was taken off to a standing ovation and was full of energy this afternoon

Radu Dragusin - 6
Dane Scarlett – 5
Rodrigo Bentancur – 6
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg – 5
Giovani Lo Celso – 5
Brennan Johnson 5
Would certainly have wanted to do his former side Nottingham Forest a favour but the 22-year-old missed two golden opportunities in the first half.
First, he was denied by Arijanet Muric and then he tried to be too clever and wasted a glorious chance when he tried to beat him at the near post, rather than square it. Missed another sitter in the second half and though he gets himself into threatening positions, he simply has to do better in front of goal. Wasteful.
Son Heung-min 6
For anyone who has been at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in recent years, it’s clear to see the number of fans that come to watch Heung-Min Son.
He is a hero for South Koreans, but this was an unusually below-par performance until the 78th minute when he showed his class to set up Johnson, who somehow missed with an open net in front of him.
Son Heung-min put in a below-par performance until the 78th minute, when he set up Brennan Johnson... only for his team-mate to miss an open goal
Burnley (4-4-2)
Arijanet Muric - 7
Started the game with a save percentage of 81.3 per cent, the best of any goalkeeper in the Premier League, and he was kept busy all game, making nine saves.
Some of them were superb but he was guility of losing the ball carelessly at times and will feel like he could have done better to stop Porro beating him at the near post. Could do nothing to keep out Van de Ven’s strike.
Lorenz Assignon - 6
A display full of tenacity and was up and down all afternoon but spent far too much time on the floor whenever he was tackled.
Arijanet Muric made some superb saves but could have done better for Porro's near-post strike
Lorenz Assignon was full of tenacity and was up and down the pitch all afternoon

Manuel Benson – 5
Mike Tresor – 5
David Datro Fofana – 5
Zeki Amdouni - 5
Dara O’Shea - 6
He will be annoyed that he held off pressuring Porro for Spurs’s equaliser but did well overall alongside Maxime Esteve. Would certainly have had a tougher afternoon if Richarlison was around.
Maxime Esteve - 6
Formed a good partnership with O’Shea and defended well but ultimately, Spurs’s quality showed.
Charlie Taylor - 6
Replaced Josh Brownhill and made a crucial early block to deny Maddison. Part of a Burnley back four who all put in solid shifts, but it still wasn’t enough.
Vitinho - 6
Offered a threat and would have been disappointed that his early header failed to beat Vicario. Replaced in the 72nd minute for Manuel Benson as Vincent Kompany’s side hunted a winner.
Vitinho will have been disappointed not to score against Spurs and was replaced in the 72nd minute
Josh Cullen - 6
Picked up an early yellow card but led from the front on a day where Burnley’s fate was confirmed, repeatedly putting his body on the line.
Sander Berge - 7
Did superbly to get an assist, driving through the Spurs midfield before teeing up Bruun Larsen with a perfectly weighted delivery. Easily Burnley’s best player of the afternoon.
Bruun Larsen - 7
A wonderfully taken goal that gave Burnley the lead. Had another good chance on the brink of half-time. Worked tirelessly all game and was replaced in the 81st minute, with nothing left in the tank.
Jacob Bruun Larsen took his goal wonderfully and worked hard but couldn't find another
Lyle Foster - 5
Lacked supply all afternoon and was taken off for David Datro Fofana as Burnley chased the game.
Wilson Odobert - 6
Like Foster, lacked supply but showed promising signs with a great delivery to tee up Vitinho in the first half and was unlucky not to score himself.
