PSG ultras dressed in black roam the streets of Paris looking for Newcastle fans before attacking their pub - where there were miraculously no injuries ahead of fears of more trouble tonight

New video footage has shown Paris Saint-Germain ultras roaming the streets of Paris, searching for Newcastle fans, before violence escalated in the French capital on Monday night. 

The Magpies are back in European action against the French champions on Tuesday night, with Eddie Howe's side in desperate need of a good result as they sit bottom of their Group F with two games to play.

Videos surfaced last night of Newcastle fans trying to blockade doors as flares and chairs were thrown by the French side's ultras. A representative of the Newcastle United Supporters Club said there were no injuries and the video circulating online made the isolated incident 'look worse than it was'.

The Newcastle United Supporters' Club posted on Monday: 'Stay safe in Paris tonight, stick together and look after each other.'

A new video has surfaced showing the PSG ultras - all dressed in black - walking down the streets of Paris looking for Newcastle fans. 

Of the large group of fans, many of them had either their hoods up or were wearing a cap, while a number of them also had their faces covered. 

It's not known though whether they were the same group of PSG ultras who attacked Newcastle fans on Monday evening.  

One of the videos on social media seemed to show travelling Magpies fans attempting to stop PSG supporters from storming a bar they were in.

Another video showed glasses being smashed and windows being broken.  

Chairs were also seen being thrown through an open door at the travelling supporters. 

There were no injuries but Monday night's clashes will raise concern that there could be further trouble ahead of Tuesday night's match. 

Newcastle have told fans to get to the ground at least an hour before kick off and 'strongly' advised them to avoid the Auteuil suburb of the city.

The I have reported that local police asked the Corcoran’s Irish pub - where more than 1,000 Newcastle fans met for a ticketed event earlier in the night - to shut at around 10pm.  

In a bid to curb violence ahead of Tuesday's match, police had previously stated that pubs designated for away fans should close early to reduce the risk of clashes with PSG supporters. 

Intelligence provided growing concern of potential trouble after PSG fans were involved in incidents in the North East with Newcastle fans after the first match between them, which Newcastle won 4-1.

Also during the group stage, one Newcastle fan was stabbed in Milan by a gang that had followed him back to his hotel prior to their Champions League opener the following night.

The fan was ambushed by seven or eight people as he walked back from a night out in Milan's Navigli district, where lots of Newcastle fans had gathered. 

Newcastle are bottom of their Champions League group ahead of Tuesday's match and know they need to win to keep their hopes of reaching the knockout stages alive.
