Rafael Nadal will begin, what is expected to be his final French Open, with a tough first-round match against fourth seed Alexander Zverev.

The 22-time Grand Slam winner, who has claimed 14 of his title at Roland Garros, plans to call time on his glittering career at the end of the season.

His German opponent comes into the tournament as one of the favourites after beating Nicolas Jarry in straight sets in the final of the Italian Open last week.

Elsewhere, Andy Murray - who may also be bidding farewell to the men's tour at the end year - has been drawn against fellow three-time Grand Slam winner Stan Wawrinka.

The 37-year-old Brit has only made one appearance at the tournament in the last seven years, having struggled with injury.  Wawrinka, two years Murray's senior, claimed a stunning French Open win in 2015.

Three-time Grand Slam winner Andy Murray is also expected to call time on his career at the end of the campaign

In the women's draw, Katie Boulter - who is enjoying the best period of her career - will go against the unseeded Spaniard Paula Badosa.

The 27-year-old has rapidly ascended the rankings in the past year, moving from outside the top 250 to as high as No 27 in the world.

The British number one has also grabbed WTA Tour wins in Nottingham and San Diego this season.

The second Grand Slam of the year gets underway in Paris on Sunday May 26.
