Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby is reportedly planning to play against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday - despite being listed as doubtful for the game with a knee injury.

Crosby, the Raiders' Pro Bowl defensive end, has also not practiced with the team once this week while battling sickness in the leadup to their showdown with the Super Bowl champions.

Yet according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the 26-year-old is still going to try to defy medical predictions by playing against Kansas City at Allegiant Stadium.


A source is quoted as saying that he has 'a real chance to play – and wants to.'

Some Raiders insiders believe it would be wise for Crosby to hold fire and ensure he is fully recovered, especially given they have a bye week in store after Sunday's game against the Chiefs,.

However, the man himself is understood to have a difference in opinion and instead wants to play.

'(He's) getting treatment around the clock, you know how it goes,' interim head coach Antonio Pierce told reporters on Friday. 

'A guy that plays every snap, you've got to take care of him. So, one thing about him, if he can be there Sunday, he'll be there.'

A fourth-round pick of the Raiders in 2019, Crosby has 48 sacks, 296 tackles (79 for a loss) and 110 quarterback hits in his five seasons.

Raiders offensive tackle Kolton Miller (shoulder), linebacker Robert Spillane (ankle), and safety Marcus Epps (neck) are questionable after being listed as limited all week. Safety Roderic Teamer (hamstring) was a full participant all week but is listed as questionable.
