Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen have pulled out of Denmark's upcoming fixtures against Slovenia and Northern Ireland after sustaining injuries while playing for Manchester United.
Hojlund and Eriksen picked up their injuries during United's Premier League fixture against Luton - which the Red Devils ended up winning 1-0 thanks to a goal from Victor Lindelof in the 59th minute.
Eriksen was the first to go off after 40 minutes with an apparent knee injury, while £72million summer signing Hojlund went off in the second-half with a hamstring issue.
Hojlund and Eriksen are not the only Man United players to have been sidelined this season. Erik ten Hag has been without Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia because of various injuries and illnesses.
The United manager will be eager to get Hojlund and Eriksen back on the pitch sooner rather than later given the Red Devils are heading into the busiest period of the season.
Man United star Rasmus Hojlund went off with a hamstring injury in clash with Luton Town
The striker, who is yet to score in the Premier League, has withdrawn from international duty
Meanwhile, Christian Eriksen went off with a knee injury shortly before half-time against Luton
Therefore, it comes as no surprise that both Hojlund and Eriksen have withdrawn from international duty with Denmark - missing their fixtures against Slovenia and Northern Ireland later this month.
Denmark manager Kasper Hjulmand has decided to call-up Napoli star Jesper Lindstrom and Trabzonspor defender Jens Stryger Larsen to replace Hojlund and Eriksen in their Euro Qualifiers.
Hojlund will be eager to return to action after making an explosive start in the Champions League for the Red Devils scoring five goals in four games.
However, he is yet to find the back of the net in the Premier League, and depending on the seriousness of his injury, he might have a wait on his hands to break his goal drought in the top-flight - after making nine appearances to date.
Eriksen has also been a regular for the Red Devils, making 14 appearances so far this season. However, his absence could give Mason Mount a chance to prove himself after a tough start to life at Old Trafford.
