Manchester United's players were left divided over whether to celebrate after beating Coventry on penalties in the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

As Rasmus Hojlund dispatched the decisive spot-kick to send United through to the final against rivals Manchester City, half of the team celebrated, while some players elected not to.

Antony, for example, cupped his ear to the Coventry fans, which drew criticism from pundit Clinton Morrison.

Christian Eriksen, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Omari Forson were the other United players seen celebrating.

However, the likes of Bruno Fernandes, CasemiroDiogo Dalot and Amad Diallo were much more reserved after United's place in the final was confirmed. Harry Maguire, meanwhile, shook hands with Coventry players immediately after the shootout finished.

Rasmus Hojlund celebrates with Andre Onana after United made it through to the final

Hojlund celebrated with goalkeeper Andre Onana after sending United through but many of his team-mates chose not to join him.

Some United players were seemingly reluctant to celebrate given how close they had come to being knocked out by Championship side Coventry.

United had established a three-goal lead, with Scott McTominay, Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes all scoring.

However, Ellis Simms' goal in the 71st minute gave Coventry hope, with Callum O'Hare and Haji Wright finding the net to send the game to extra-time.

Victor Torp thought he had won the game for Coventry in extra-time but his effort was ruled out for offside against Wright following a VAR check.

A penalty shootout followed, with Hojlund dispatching his spot-kick after Ben Sheaf missed for Coventry.

Roy Keane stated that some United players seemed embarrassed to win.

'Some of the United players and supporters weren't going over the top with the celebrations.' He said on ITV. 'They were almost embarrassed to win at the end.

'Whenever I see this United team I don't like what I see. Talk about leadership and characters, I don't see that in this United team. My goodness, they rode their luck today.

'We're having the same conversation every week with Man United, you don't know what you're going to get.

'You always say you need a bit of luck. Maguire said they showed good character, I don't see character in this group of players. I'm looking at the goalkeeper, wasting time. Just get on with the game. Show some courage.

'Huge problems for Man United going forward but they got the job done.'
