Alan Brazil made an early exit from his birthday broadcast on Friday due to illness, his former talkSPORT colleague Mike Parry has revealed.
The show was being done live in front of a crowd at the Marquis hotel and restaurant in Suffolk.
And those in attendance were somewhat perplexed when Brazil left co-host Ray Parlour with around an hour remaining.
The 64-year-old did not to return but Parry has allayed fears that this was due to anything too serious.
Alan Brazil left the final hour of his birthday broadcast because he was feeling unwell
Posting a picture of himself and brazil on X, Parry wrote: 'OK FOLKS .. Just got a re-assuring update for y'all about Al @alanbrazil.
'At his birthday broadcast on Friday he retired from the last hour 'cos he fell ill. It's been confirmed he picked up a 48hr virus.
'He's now back to full strength and returns to @talkSPORT next week.'
Co-host Parlour also shared a video addressing the situation on X.
Speaking from the bar at his home, Parlour said: 'great week, we was up in Marquis which is a beautiful place right near Alan's.
'The show was brilliant on Friday even though Alan didn't make the last hour-and-a-half. He had to go and have a lie down, he weren't feeling too well. He was fine yesterday. I stayed over on Friday night and he was absolutely fine on Saturday so that's the good news. I'll be back with him next week.'
Parlour then finished off his weekly Sunday post by downing a 'Cobra bomb', a Jager bomb made with beer.
One listener wrote on X: 'Alan Brazil has dipped out of his own 65th birthday party arranged in his local bar for him. Only Alan Brazil can out Brazil Brazil.'
