The group stage of Euro 2024 has finally come to an end and it's now been revealed which fans were treated to the most and least exciting groups.

As the Three Lions gear up for their last-16 clash with Slovakia on Sunday afternoon, they'll perhaps be hoping for more firepower up front after scoring just two goals.

And the stats show that England in fact were part of the least exciting group at the tournament after watching just seven goals go in.

The remaining teams in Group C - who include Denmark and Slovenia - also scored two goals, apart from Serbia who scored just one.

The next lowest-scoring group in the tournament was Group E which featured Romania, Belgium, Slovakia and Ukraine.

England's struggles at Euro 2024 were reflected by the fact there were seven goals in Group C

Group A and Group F saw the joint-most goals (17) scored across the opening games

There were just 11 goals scored in that group, with Romania's four goals being the most out of any of the four sides.

Next in the list is Group B, who saw 14 goals go in throughout the tournament. Albania, Croatia and Italy all scored three times while Spain notched five.

The next group, which is now the third-highest scoring at Euro 2024, was Group D - which included France, Netherlands, Poland and Austria - who saw 15 goals go in.

Ralf Rangnick's Austria have proved to be one of the surprise packages at the tournament and their six goals in Group D certainly helped their case.

Finally, two groups came joint-first with Group A and Group F both seeing a whopping 17 goals go in throughout the group stage.

Tournament hosts Germany certainly played their part in the entertainment after scoring eight goals in their opening three games - the most out of any team.

As mentioned earlier, England will likely be hoping that their fortunes in front of goal improve when they take on Slovakia in their last-16 tie on Sunday afternoon.
