England have found out their opponents in the Euro 2024 quarter-finals if they manage to beat Slovakia on Sunday - after holders Italy exited the competition.

The Three Lions managed to go through to the knockout phase despite a series of underwhelming performances in all three of their group games.

Gareth Southgate's men registered a 1-0 win against Serbia in their tournament opener before going on to partake in two stalemate draws against Denmark and Slovenia respectively.

Despite only finishing on five points, it was enough to see them top the group because the other group games also ended in draws. Southgate's men will need to see a massive improvement in their performances if they are to live up to their pre-tournament hype and label as one of the tournament favourites.

So who will England face in the knockout stages? Here is their route to the final.

The Three Lions will face Slovakia in their last-16 clash scheduled for Sunday, June 30

Last-16 - Slovakia

England will face Slovakia in their round-of-16 tie on Sunday, June 30.

The Three lions narrowly avoided a match-up with the Netherlands after Georgia stunned Portugal, registering a 2-0 victory against one of the teams backed to win the competition.

Quarter-final - Switzerland

If England manage to win their last-16 tie against Slovakia, which seems like a reasonable task to get done, they will face Switzerland.

Switzerland enjoyed a good run in their Group A fixtures, going unbeaten in the group and narrowly missing out on the top spot, which was snatched by hosts Germany.

Murat Yakin's men then shocked the continent as they dumped out holders Italy in the last-16 on Saturday.

Remo Freuler opened the scoring before Ruben Vargas made it 2-0 straight after the half-time break.

Semi-final - Austria / Romania / Netherlands / Turkey

If England manage to beat Switzerland, they will face one of the following nations in their semi-final clash on Wednesday, July 10

Austria, Romania, Netherlands and Turkey are all potential opponents for Southgate's side if they travel the distance a make it Dortmund for the semi-final.

Final - Spain / Germany / France / Portugal / Belgium / Denmark / Slovenia / Georgia

England could do the unthinkable and reach the final and go on to lift their first major trophy since 1966.

However unlike their path to the final, their opponents for the final will likely be one of the big four on the other side of the draw.

Their most likely opponents in the final would be one of Spain, Germany, France or Portugal.

Belgium are also on the other of the draw, while Denmark, Slovenia and Georgia are massive underdogs to reach the final.
