Revealed: How England unwind with drill music - and James Morrison! - and who controls the speakers as Gareth Southgate's players settle into their plush Euro 2024 resort

England stars celebrated their Euro 2024 victory over Serbia by listening to gangsta rap style music, MailOnline can reveal.

The players arrived at their base camp in the early hours and drill music was heard around the hotel.

The provider of the tunes was Arsenal ace Declan Rice who showed off his varied taste in music much to the delight of his team mates.

His former West Ham team-mate Jarrod Bowen, who starred for 20 minutes in the match and provided captain Harry Kane with a near miss, said the music was blaring 'post match.'

He added: 'Dec loves DNA and at six in the morning I swear I've heard those songs from Dec and I don't know how many times.

'If those songs come on, you know he's controlling it.'

Defender Marc Guehi, who made his tournament debut for England against Serbia, admitted that when the team arrived back the music took over.

'There was loads of drill yesterday' he said.

Bowen, whose partner is Dani Dyer, added: 'One minute Dec's playing drill and the next minute he's playing a James Morrison song.

'(It was) one extreme to another.'

But Guehi said his ideal song to play after a big win would be Blue's 'One Love.'

Bowen said the England team trained well together but were building their off-field friendships and 'everyone gets on so well.'

'It just clicks for me and it's one of the main things (that) everyone just getting on really well.'

The players revealed padel tennis, rounds of golf and the table card game Uno were favourites.

The team also love chatting about Love Island, Rice revealed.

But Crystal Palace star Guehi said his first tournament match and the nerves he had, had left him yearning for his pillow and bed.

'I can't wait to sleep. I am knackered man,' he said.

Bowen added: 'It was an intense game, a physical game and (it took) a lot out of the legs.

'I was saying to Marc that I played 20 minutes, but I was absolutely sweating.'

The players were talking to the official England podcast on Monday afternoon.

England are at the Weimarer Land Golf and Spa resort in Blankenhain - costing around £800,000 with all 94 rooms secured by the FA.

The suites have giant TV sets, comfy sofas and additional walk-in showers filled with Clarins bathroom accessories.

Players such as Kane, Jude Bellingham and Trent Alexander-Arnold breakfast in brightly lit restaurants with salmon, organic sourdough breads and eggs and freshly squeezed orange juice on the menu along with locally produced honey.

The dinner menu is also overseen by chefs hired and brought in by the Football Association to ensure they have the best nutritional foods to help them give their utmost when competing in the month-long tournament.

But the FA kitchen staff have Michelin chefs Danny Schwabe and Marcello Fabbri from the complex's The Augusta and The Masters restaurants on hand to provide food al a carte.

The two top chefs' specialities are smoked roast beef with celery and focaccia and pink veal fillets with herbs, sauteed bread dumplings, beetroot and melted onions.

The hotel's robot Robbie also motors around the team bringing dishes from the kitchen and removing them after use.

The England stars may like a tipple only when not on international or club duty, but their hotel has racks of the choicest wines displayed as they move around the hotel.

Sommelier Thomas Stobbe said: 'The players might not be drinking, but we have the finest wines here. The most expensive is a 2001 Amarone Valpolicella which costs around £680 a bottle. But the racks will be locked.'
