Barcelona boss Xavi could be persuaded to stay at Barcelona if two conditions are met, according to a report.

The 44-year-old revealed in January that he would walk away from the club after two and a half years in charge following a difficult spell.

He said at the time his decision would free up his players, and they will head into their LaLiga clash with lowly Cadiz on a 12-game unbeaten run in all competitions.

Their most recent was an impressive 3-2 Champions League quarter-final, first-leg victory at Paris St Germain.

Given their impressive form, there have been suggestions that Xavi could make a shock decision to stay at the club - with two points of interest at the top of his agenda.

Xavi thinks Barcelona's season would have been a 'disaster' without news of his exit this year

Barcelona currently sit second in LaLiga and face PSG in the Champions League quarter-finals

According to Mundo Deportivo, Xavi wants guarantees that he will be able to bring in reinforcements in summer and will not lose any of his essential players.

The Catalan giants have been linked with a number of players in recent weeks, including Manchester City playmaker Bernardo Silva.

Meanwhile, central midfielder Frenkie de Jong has previously been linked with a move away but he'll be a player that Xavi will certainly want to keep hold of.

The Spanish outlet previously reported that, in order for Xavi to consider staying, club chiefs will make a significant play for Haaland in 2025, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.

The club view him as the ideal replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who will turn 36 in August.

Haaland has a contract at City until June 2027, and insisted last month that he is happy at the Premier League champions, but admitted 'you never know what the future brings', leaving the door open for a potential move away from the Etihad Stadium somewhere down the line.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta is keen for Xavi to stay, despite the manager announcing his intention to leave the club this summer

Barcelona cannot afford any slip-ups as they face a battle with Girona for second place

The Norwegian striker scored 86 goals in 89 games for Borussia Dortmund, and has found the net 81 times in 88 appearances for City, proving his credentials in Germany and England.

He could get the chance to shine in a third major European league next year if Barcelona can convince him to move to the Nou Camp.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta wants to bring Haaland to the club next summer, but is also keen to support Xavi in the coming months if he opts to perform a U-turn and stays for at least another year.

Laporta is planning to make a couple of important signings this summer to strengthen the team to get Barcelona back to the top of Spanish football.
