Three cars including a Range Rover have been burnt to the ground as Sydney is rocked by a series of firebomb attacks overnight.
Firefighters extinguished three car fires in Rozelle, Pyrmont and Merrylands in the city's west during the early hours of Friday morning.
An incinerated Range Rover was discovered by police on Crystal Street in Rozelle, in Sydney's inner west, at about 3.30am.
The intense flames caused a power line to collapse, causing the evacuation of nearby residents as a precaution.
A Rozelle resident said he was lucky the flames didn't spread to his house after his fence was burnt down.
'Came pretty close but I dodged a bullet,' he told Channel Seven's Sunrise.
The area has been cordoned off as a crime scene as police launch an investigation into the cause of the inferno.

'Fire and Rescue NSW crews attended and extinguished the blaze; however the vehicle was destroyed,' police said in a statement.
'Residents from nearby properties were briefly evacuated as a precaution.'
Less than 3km away in the inner-city suburb of Pyrmont, police discovered a second vehicle ablaze on Bulwarra Road, at about 2.15am.
The car was also found completely destroyed.
'Police do not believe the car fire is linked to any other event at this stage,' police said in a statement.

In a third incident in Western Sydney, a third vehicle was found heavily damaged by fire on Todd Street in Merrylands at about 1.35am.
Firefighters used foam to contain the fire on the vehicle, which was found with a trail of fuel nearby.
'The vehicle was unattended at the time,' police said.
'No other property was damaged in the incident.'
NSW Police said inquiries into the matters were continuing with anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
