Saturday Lotto results: Sydney man claims prize

A hardworking Aussie bloke is set to retire early after winning a $3.3million lotto prize over the weekend.

The man, from Greystanes in Sydney's west, became a multi-millionaire on Saturday night after purchasing a ticket from his local newsagency.

He was one of three division one winning entries in Lotto draw 4483, each of which took home a whopping $3.3 million.

'Oh mate! I've been playing these numbers for 40 years and they've finally come up!' the man said when told of his prize.

The winner's entry also scored division three 12 times and division four 14 times, taking his total winnings to a whopping $3,344,195.44.

'It's a dream come true. I don't even know how much money that is,' he said.

'I did check my ticket last night and I knew I had won it, but it just hasn't sunk in. It's just incredible.

'And it's come at the most perfect time. My retirement has come early.

The man said he plans to use some of his prize money to finish his long-awaited home renovations.

'I'm going to finish the house off how I like it and then I can relax,' he said. 

'I've waited 40 years for this!' 

Greystanes Centre Newsagency owner Narith Lim said she looked forward to spreading the good news that another big division one prize had landed in the region.

'When I first heard that my newsagency had sold a division one winning entry, I was incredibly excited and thrilled for the winner. 

'It's a great feeling knowing that someone from our store had such a big win.

'So far in the last 10 years, we have sold a substantial six division one winning tickets at this store! We hope to grow this count.'

The winning numbers were 4, 20, 26, 3, 15 and 44, while the supplementary numbers were 7 and 35.

In 2023, Saturday Lotto created 176 millionaires across Australia. 

There are more chances to win big with Tuesday's Oz Lotto offering $30 million, meanwhile Thursday's Powerball has $10 million up for grabs.
