Gary O'Neil raged against VAR's decision to rule out Max Kilman's stoppage time equaliser for Wolves after their 2-1 defeat at home to West Ham on Saturday.

James Ward-Prowse scored directly from a corner after 85 minutes to give the visitors the lead, but there was more late drama at Molineux.

Kilman's header was scratched off after a VAR check because Tawanda Chirewa was standing in an offside position, and interfering with play by blocking the Hammers goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

However, the Wolves boss believes the call by referee Tony Harrington was the wrong one - and claimed it was backed up by his West Ham counterpart David Moyes, as well as the shotstopper in question.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the final whistle, O'Neil said: 'My view, David Moyes' view, Fabianski's view, is that it's a scandalous decision. Terrible. Horrendous. I don't understand it.

'I can't think of an explanation to be honest. One of the worst decisions I have ever witnessed.'

He confronted the officials at the full-time whistle, but said he was not calm enough post-match to receive an official story, adding: 'Any explanation doesn't help us.'

O'Neil explained: 'The only way he could be impacting the goalkeeper is if he impacts how he can move, which he isn't, and if he impacts his vision, which he isn't.

'If you watch the side-on view, Fabianski can clearly see the ball over Tawanda's head. Terrible decision.'

He said their gameplay was 'excellent' first-half, when they took the lead courtesy of Pablo Sarabia’s 33rd-minute penalty.

'Fantastic for the boys to produce that performance with what we have available', O'Neil said.

However, he accepted that they struggled when West Ham moved to man-to-man play after the break, and slammed 'two crazy goals' that they conceded.

O'Neil said that it was 'unbelievable' that Wolves lost after a dominant first-half display

He said that West Ham's David Moyes and Lukasz Fabianski also disagreed with the decision

In December, Wolves fans displayed anti-VAR banners during the game away at Arsenal

He summed it up by noting: 'How we've lost that football match today is unbelievable. Really disappointing.'

Wolves, who currently sit 11th in the Premier League table after Saturday's games, travel to Nottingham Forest next weekend, before a home game against Arsenal seven days later.

O'Neil previously sought an explanation for the decisions which went against Wolves in their 1-1 FA Cup draw against Brighton, arguing that two Bees players should have been sent off during the game back in January.

In December, Wolves fans displayed anti-VAR banners at Arsenal following claims by O'Neil that poor decisions by officials had cost his side seven points.
