GWS defender Sam Taylor has been taken to hospital and play stopped in the Giants AFL clash with St Kilda for several minutes after a fierce collision left him motionless on the deck at Manuka Oval.
In a sickening moment, Taylor came off second best in a heavy collision with St Kilda midfielder Jack Steele during the Giants tense one-point win over the Saints.
Taylor was in a bad way on the ground before treated to by doctors and medicos as play was stopped for some time.
The star defender was eventually stretchered off the field and set to be taken to hospital for further monitoring.

There was stunned silence at Manuka Oval as Taylor was stablilised before being transported to Canberra Hospital
'Oh no, Sam Taylor is in a world of pain. You never like to see this on the footy field,' Kelli Underwood said on Fox Footy's coverage.
'He's not in a good way, without stating the obvious,' Fox Footy commentator Mark Howard added.
'He hasn't moved as the medical staff still surround him. Our thoughts are with Sam and his family.'
Andy Maher added on AFL Nation: 'This is a bad one… everything about it was hard to watch. The players knew it straight away.'

The Saints had injury concerns of their own, losing key forward Max King to a knee injury late in the contest
The Giants later said Taylor was conscious in a promising update.
Giants footy boss Jason McCartney provided an update on Taylor during the first break.
'He's gone to Canberra Hospital for further assessment. But he was conscious and speaking as he got in the ambulance,' McCartney told Fox Footy.
'Obviously it didn't look great, but he's a courageous kid. He's in the very best hands now and he'll be fine.'
Taylor was one of many injury concerns for the Giants, who held on to survive a furious St Kilda comeback in the final quarter.
Stephen Coniglio could be another significant casualty after his knee was twisted awkwardly in a tackle in the final term.
The Saints were dealt own injury blow in the third quarter with key forward Max King appearing to injure his left knee.
He hobbled off the field at the end of the quarter, assisted by trainers, and did not return for the huddle or final quarter.
