Scottie Scheffler and his wife Meredith enjoyed a family day out in Paris on Sunday ahead of his bid to win Olympic gold.

Golf's world No. 1 player will compete for medals alongside some of the world's best players next week, including fellow Americans Collin Morikawa, Xander Schauffele and Wyndham Clark.

It's been a rollercoaster few months for Scheffler after his arrest outside the PGA Championship and victory at the Masters but he's been enjoying some down time after The Open in Scotland last week.

Scheffler and Meredith took their young son Bennett with them to Paris and posed for some family pictures as they took in some sights around the city.

Their first stop was the iconic Louvre museum before they stopped for a picture on one of the bridges over the Seine.

Bennett was born on May 8 - just days before his arrest outside the PGA Championship in Kentucky.

Scheffler had vowed to leave the Masters during the tournament if Meredith went into labor. Fortunately he won at Augusta National before their first child arrived.

Scheffler has been imperious on the course this year, winning the Travelers, RBC Heritage, Arnold Palmer Invitational, The Sentry and Memorial Tournament, as well as the Players Championship and Masters.

Olympic gold is one of the very few titles to still elude Scheffler but he will be confident that he can secure it in France.

His closest rival could be Schauffele, who has won two majors this season and arrives in Paris as the reigning Olympic champion.
