Sergino Dest could miss up to nine months with a knee injury, according to a new report, as a potential timetable for the USA defender has been revealed.
Dest, a right-back for Barcelona who's played this season on loan with PSV, previously confirmed the injury himself on Instagram while PSV acknowledged he would be out for an 'extended period' after hurting himself on Saturday in training.
And according to The Athletic, that absence could run all the way into early 2025, with the outlet reporting the nine-month timeline on Monday night.
The Athletic also said that PSV want to make Dest's loan move permanent, as the defender had contributed seven assists in 37 games this season.
Dest had previously written on his Instagram, 'After a wonderful season with PSV, I'll not be able to finish the season. Thanks for the support.'

Dest's injury will see him miss the Copa America, which the US men's national team will compete in this summer.
The 23-year-old was part of the Americans' squad for last month's CONCACAF Nations League triumphs over Jamaica and Mexico.
Since making his USA debut in 2019, Dest has been a mainstay for the Stars and Stripes, making 33 caps and starting at right-back in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The United States was drawn into Group C for the Copa America alongside Bolivia, Uruguay, and Panama and are favorites to advance to the quarterfinals.
The Americans' first game of the tournament is June 23 against Bolivia.
