Seth Rollins had to be held back and removed from the building at the Survivor Series after seeing CM Punk make a return to WWE

Punk made a dramatic return to the business after a nine-year hiatus when he appeared at the end of the main event.

The 45 year-old controversially left WWE the night after the Royal Rumble in 2014, citing creative frustrations but also anger at the lack of medical care taken with him at the time.

His relationship with Rollins has been fraught with bad blood over the years, with Rollins taking a swipe at the Punk in interviews during the former UFC fighter's time at the second biggest wrestling promotion in the world, AEW.

It seems Rollins dislikes Punk to the extent that he had to be removed from the building by WWE legend and Chief Content Officer Triple H, leaving the former AEW star 'confused.'

Seth Rollins is widely considered one of the WWE's greatest ever wrestlers after a glittering career

The 45-year-old's return blew fans minds, but also provoked angry reactions from other wrestlers

Rollins had to be physically restrained by Michael Cole and Corey Graves as he yelled expletives and gave the middle finger at Punk when he appeared.

According to wrestling reporter Sean Ross, Rollins may have been acting, but it still confused Punk.

Ross posted on X: 'Backstage in Gorilla position, we're told that Seth Rollins had to be ushered away by Triple H and Michael Cole, as he was not happy about Punk's appearance.

'Punk was said to have looked confused by it. At least to people in the area, it was said to be an awkward scene.

'Obviously because of the nature of pro wrestling, and what we report on, it could possibly be a work.'

Rollins may have been playing up to the emotions to raise excitement for a possible match between the two, but he has labelled Punk a 'cancer', saying the WWE 'did not want him' in the past, and has also accused Punk of being selfish.

Rollins said: 'Phil (CM Punk's real name), stay away. Stay away, you cancer. Get away from me forever. I don't like Phil. He's a jerk.

'Oh, did we just figure that out? We figured it out over there (AEW), we knew it over here. I don't want him back. Go do something else.'

It's always been about him. He has always taken and taken. He has never returned anything. I am not a fan. He has a lot to give back.'
