A pair of scam artists conned their way into a woman's home with an elaborate con about building repairs and proceeded to sexually assault her, police in Pennsylvania allege.

According to the West Chester Police Department, James McDonagh, of Ireland, and John Delaney, an English citizen, went to the home to commit the heinous act on November 22.

McDonagh told the woman that his name was 'Jimmy' as he provided her with a list of services he could provide, including home repairs and masonry.

As part of the ruse, McDonagh was able to present her with a business card for Everest Roofing and Masonry as well as a phone number. When he eventually got into her house, McDonagh raped the woman, police said.

The woman made contact with police who in turn made contact with the phone number on the card that McDonagh handed over. This led police to McDonagh and Delaney, who were swiftly arrested.

The two men, James McDonagh, 22, left, and John Delaney, 27, right, apparently left a business card at the scene and were swiftly arrested by the police following the incident

Police have confirmed that their business does not exist and that the pair, along with another unnamed person, have been scamming residents in the area.

McDonagh is charged with with aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault and Delaney with deceptive business practices, operating a vehicle with a fraudulent license plate, and other related charges.

Neither have fixed addresses in the United States, police said. Both are being held on bonds $50,000 as police continue to search for their third accomplice.

The pair even developed a website, which features a list of glowing reviews as well as a list of the services they offered.

'Definitely a scary thing. Sounds like they knew what they were doing, and that they had that in mind... We're a small town, very friendly most of the time. Definitely keeps us on edge hearing about something like that,' local resident Matthew Turse told ABC Philadelphia.

I feel like the world is really crazy right now. I wish stuff like this wouldn't happen, but unfortunately it continues to,' another resident told the station.
