A woman grabbing a meal at one of her favorite restaurants in Midland, Texas was shocked to find a disturbing surprise that came with her food.
Kimberly Rios, a former waitress, went viral after she posted a video on TikTok of her reaction to the disgusting discovery.
At first, the unwelcome ingredient could barely be seen as Rios, her friend and a small child are seen staring at their menus.
'All my years going to Texas Roadhouse in Midland, Texas, never have I been so disappointed,' Rios wrote in the video description.
Nearly one minute into the April 9 video, a crawling cockroach that made Rios disappointed with Texas Roadhouse suddenly comes into view.
Kimberly Rios, a former waitress, went viral after she posted a video on TikTok of her and her friend reacting to a cockroach on their table
Rios and her restaurant guests appeared to be enjoying the meal before one of them spotted the roach.
However, they all stopped eating and began searching for the insect after one of the guests found the cockroach while eating.
The unidentified female restaurant guest claimed that the cockroach 'went into the menu.'
'It's inside the menu, I'm telling you,' the other female guest told Rios.
Rios then moved the table's menu holder before the other woman spotted the cockroach moving.
The TikToker then gave her phone to her female companion, who got footage of the small cockroach crawling quickly on the edge of the table.
She then handed the phone back to Rios, who moved the food and hinted that she would take action regarding the cockroach situation.
Following the rise in the video's popularity, Rios confirmed in the comment section that she killed the cockroach after she stopped the video, and even though she 'could have acted foolish,' she chose not to.
'What were we supposed to do? Scream monster with the baby, and act Ghetto like some would? I'm not,' Rios wrote in the comment section on April 13.
'We take the cleanliness of our restaurants very seriously and make it a top priority at every location. In fact, our Midland, Texas, location has a long history of exemplary health scores,' a representative from Texas Roadhouse told Daily Dot.
'In addition, once this video was posted, the local Health Department made two visits to our store in April, and found zero evidence of pests.'

The representative also confirmed that the local health department went to the restaurant twice after the video was posted and they found 'zero evidence' of pests.
'We wish the guests would have brought this to someone’s attention at the time, so we could have addressed this personally,' said the representative.
'In fact, our server noticed them filming at the table, and asked if there was an issue and the guest said no.'
Rios' video is one of multiple TikToks that users have posted on the social media platform over the last two years.
Rashida Hameed posted a TikTok video in November 2023 of her birthday dinner at Texas Roadhouse in El Cajon, California, being ruined by a cockroach.
The cockroach was not as big as the one in Rios' video, but it was quick to crawl across the table.
Hameed and the other restaurant guests she sat with began to panic and one of shushed someone in the background.
One of the other restaurant guests claimed they would get the manager, but according to Hameed, the worker told them that someone from pest control came to the restaurant two days before the birthday dinner.
'I really feel sick now. I can’t stand it after tonight. This is truly unbelievable,' Hameed wrote in the video's comment section.

Cockroaches are considered a health code violation and it can determine the grade a restaurant receives from officials during inspections.
According to Ecolab, cockroaches can cause a restaurant to be shut down by health inspectors and spread diseases such as E. coli, salmonella, or dysentery.
Cockroaches are nocturnal insects that usually prefer to live and breed together in dark places near food and moisture.
The insects venture out of hiding when hungry and can move across floors and garbage and even crawl across furniture used for food-prep and its equipment.
