The terrifying video was taken on Southern Road in Newham at around 3pm yesterday, just outside of Southern Road primary school.
In it you see a group of six masked youths set upon each other, as the situation quickly escalates from throwing punches, to whacking each other with what appears to be machetes and hammers.
Moments later a unmarked car speeds into the shot and two police officers race out, armed with machine guns to break up the fight.
Four boys in their mid-teens were arrested at the scene and one was taken to hositpal with injuries, the police have said.

The unknown assailants scattered and the police attempt to chase after them, as you see passer-bys also beginning to run from the area, keen not the get involved.
Passers-by can also be heard in the background of the video voicing their shock at what it happening.
With one person fearfully saying: 'Oh they are swinging it. They are swinging it'
The film was published online by Newham People's Alliance and people was quick to express their dismay at the situation in the comments.
One user said: 'It was never this bad in nNwham but the last 20yrs its got like this.'
Another added: 'I live close to there and see these feral kids most days after school. Good thing the police arrived but these events happen too often.
'We are too soft today. The kids should be expelled and sent to an approved school as was when I was that age if they cannot live like civilised human beings.'
A third wrote: 'I don’t feel safe in Newham at all.'
A Met Police spokesperson said: 'Police were called at about 15:00hrs on Friday, 19 April to reports of a disturbance and people in possession of knives on Southern Road, E13.
'Officers, including firearms officers, attended. Four boys aged in their mid-teens were arrested.
'One teenager was taken to hospital for treatment to a hand injury and has since been discharged.
'Detectives from the North East Command Unit are investigating.'
