A women's college soccer game briefly descended into madness on Sunday as two opponents brawled with one another.

Rutgers traveled to UMass for an afternoon matchup and chaos ensued after the Scarlet Knights' Gia Girman fouled an opponent from behind in the 55th minute.

The UMass player's teammate, Ashley Lamond, tried to take the free kick quickly but she and Girman got tangled up as the former attempted to grab the ball.

From there, Lamond shoved Girman before punches were thrown in both directions and Girman threw her opponent to the ground.

Girman continued punching Lamond while she was atop of her, while Lamond tugged on her opponent's hair in an ugly scene.
