The waiting game might be almost over to find out where Shohei Ohtani will sign this offseason.

According to a report from MLB Network, the biggest free agent in MLB history is likely to pick a suitor within the next week.

The four teams thought to be at the forefront to attain Ohtani's services are the Los Angeles Angels, where he's played since 2018, the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Chicago Cubs and the Toronto Blue Jays

Ohtani is thought to be the biggest free agent in the league's existence and is expected to demand the largest contract in MLB history.

Another report from Jon Heyman confirms that belief with bidding for Ohtani reportedly already exceeding $500million.

Shohei Ohtani has won two of the last three American League MVPs with his two-way prowess

Ohtani will likely sign the largest contract in MLB history, with amounts ballooning past $500M

Fellow Angel Mike Trout signed a 12-year, $426.5-million deal that added two years and a massive pay bump to a current contract in 2019.

The largest free-agent contract in league history was signed by New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge last offseason with a nine-year, $360-million deal, with New York retaining the power hitter.

Ohtani has been one of baseball's best since coming to America and has spent his entire MLB career with the Los Angeles Angels.

But the franchise has not made a playoff appearance since the now-29-year-old Ohtani's arrival.

Ohtani has won two of the last three American League MVP Awards, thanks in part due to his ability as a hitter and pitcher.

His value didn't drop despite undergoing elbow surgery in September, and Ohtani isn't expected to pitch again until the start of the 2025 season.
