A food shop in London is already selling Easter chocolate to customers with still more than a week to go before Christmas

A photograph from today shows a large display of Cadbury Mini Eggs available for customers to purchase next to the till in a Nisa store in Kennington, south London.

Behind the display a smaller box of Cadbury Creme Eggs is also visible at the front of the counter, next to a container of Christmas reindeer chocolate.

It comes as food shops across the country are packed with mince pies, selection boxes and other festive-themed treats with just eight days to go before Christmas.

The packets of Mini Eggs are on sale in the Nisa store for £1.50 each and are placed right next to the shop's till.

Behind the large Easter display a stand of Halloween-themed lollipops can also be seen.

An anonymous shopper said: 'It seems strange they're already advertising Easter chocolate when there's still more than a week to go before Christmas! It's right in front of the till in front of some of the Christmas food.

'Supermarkets usually start bringing out the Easter chocolate soon after Christmas but this seems ridiculously early this year!'

Last year amused shoppers shared pictures of supermarket shelves overflowing with Easter eggs just days after Christmas.

Morrisons stocked up on the chocolate goodies from Boxing Day, with shelf stackers joking that the first boxes were in the warehouse before December 25.

Some supermarkets were filling warehouses with spring treats before closing for Christmas, social media users said last year.

MailOnline has contacted Nisa for comment.
