Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville turns his hand to modelling as the new face of Hawes & Curtis - after the pundit started a hotel, worked on Dragons' Den and bought a football club

6 months ago 28

He's won every major trophy as a footballer, won praise as a pundit, tried his luck as a manager, owned a football club started a hotel business - and even appeared on Dragons' Den

But it seems there's no profession Gary Neville won't venture into after becoming the new face of Hawes & Curtis - modelling their new range of linen suits and polo shirts ahead of a big sport of summer.

Neville is more often seen strutting around the inside of a Sky Sports studio analysing football matches on an interactive screen, but the 49-year-old decided to switch things up after partnering with the well-known suit maker.

The former England international is set to represent Hawes & Curtis by wearing their new range this summer, when he will be jetting off to Germany to work as a pundit for coverage of Euro 2024.

'Throughout my career I have always been on the hunt for a wardrobe that has a bit of everything, and this edit does exactly that. Hawes & Curtis will make it easy for me to put together outfits for all the commitments I have this summer. I can't wait to work with them and bring it all to life.'

The Sky Sports pundit also showed off some of their more casual clothes in the photoshoot

The 49-year-old has tried out a number of different careers - including working as a dragon on Dragons' Den

Dragons' Den star Touker Suleyman - who has starred on the show alongside Neville - said he was 'the perfect face' for the brand and was excited to see how he would help promote it during the Euros.

'Gary is the perfect face for Hawes & Curtis,' he said. 'As sportsman, media personality and businessman, he speaks to all our customers. With the Euros coming up, I am delighted that we can kick start the summer season with such an exciting partnership.'

Neville's partnership with Hawes & Curtis is aimed at promoting the summer of sport that will start with Euro 2024, which kicks off on June 14 with Germany vs Scotland as the tournament opener.

The punditry teams for Euro 2024 have not yet been named, though Neville often appears for ITV to work on live coverage of England at major tournaments.

Neville's turn to modelling comes after a colourful career following his retirement from football in 2011 - having become a Manchester United legend with 602 appearances and 21 trophies won.

He has also purchased a football club after becoming one of the main owners of Salford City

Neville has become a successful businessman after setting up the popular Hotel Football in Manchester and became one of the main owners of Salford City Football Club in 2014 alongside former Man United team-mates David Beckham, Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and brother Phil.

He has started an investment business called Relentless, which he says is his favourite word and sums up his approach to life.

Under his Relentless developments portfolio, Neville is in the midst of developing St Michaels Rooftop in Manchester city centre, which his website claims will 'bring £120m of investment into the city and creating circa 1,800 jobs'.

Neville is primarily known for being a regular face as a pundit for Sky Sports alongside Jamie Carragher - and has won praise for his articulated views on the game.

One of his more forgettable career ventures was a brief stint as manager of Spanish club Valencia - which was a disaster

In between, he had a brief four-month stint as a manager with LaLiga side Valencia, being sacked after just three league wins.

He also worked as a coach with England under Roy Hodgson between 2014 and 2016, before returning to his regular duties in the Sky studio.

Last year, he turned heads by appearing on Dragons' Den for the first time as he sat alongside regular dragons Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, Touker Suleyman, Sara Davies, and Steven Bartlett on series 21 of the popular BBC show.

Speaking after his surprise move, he said: 'It's a pleasure to join the Dragons as a guest for the new series and see some of the amazing pitches from budding entrepreneurs from different walks of life.

'It was a privilege to share my knowledge and guidance with the brave entrepreneurs who entered the Den, but you'll have to wait and see whether I committed to any investments!'
