A truck driver has narrowly escaped death after a giant tree branch smashed through his windscreen, almost impaling him.
The driver, 62, ran his truck off the side of the Dukes Highway, west of Bordertown in SA, at 6am on Saturday.
It collided with a tree next to a sign post, shattering the windscreen where the jagged branch blasted through leaving the driver with minor injuries.

SA Police shared images of the crash which show just how close the incident came to being fatal.
The driver was driven by paramedics to the Bordertown Hospital.
Social media users were quick to instruct the lucky driver to go buy a lottery ticket due to his luck.
'Take a lottery ticket, very luck it missed the driver,' one woman wrote.
'Very lucky, optimus on the other hand will need fixing,' another added.
Police urged all motorists to practice caution on the road at all times.
