Spencer Matthews hid under the bed at his parents' St Barts hotel after he feared bodyguards for Colonel Gaddafi's son were going to kill him following a row over a girl in a nightclub.
Matthews told how he was petrified as the security guards for army officer Mutassim Billah Gaddafi - a regular on the Caribbean island- came banging on his door at the £14,000-a-night Eden Roc when he was a teenager.
Speaking on the Mail's Everything I Know About Me podcast, the star told how he had been on a date at the famous Feeling nightspot when Gaddafi, who later died in 2011, approached him and the woman, named Sophie, and rudely suggested she would be sleeping with him that night.
Matthews, 36, says he defended the woman and shortly afterwards a group of bodyguards came after him and he was forced to flee the nightclub.
However, the security men would not allow him to leave the car park so Matthews says he just 'drove at them'.

He said: 'I was single at the time and there was a young lady who was new to the Eden Roc, she was called Sophie.
'We went up to a nightclub called Feeling. It was quite seedy in nature but very famous. We were in there at the back enjoying ourselves and this guy came up to me and was just incredibly rude.
'I won't say what he said to me but it was along the lines of 'you are going to spend the night in bed with me tonight' - not to me but to Sophie, in front of me.
'I had a mouth on me and my levels of confidence certainly weren't depleted at the time. I was pretty rude to him back and we had this argument over it and he disappeared off.
'I couldn't believe what this guy has just said as, out of the corner of my eye, I see him and these three or four security guards - they were like aliens, the size of them, their shoulders went almost directly into their ears they were so big.
'I don't know what they were eating or injecting but these guys were just total monsters of men, four, five of them all dressed in black and I saw them tearing through the crowd, coming our way.

'I thought 'we have to get the hell of here now'. So I grabbed her hand and ran to the back, the fire exit, out of the club into the car. There was only one way out of the car park, you had to drive through.
'These guys ran out and stood in front of the gate. I was trapped in the car park.
'They meant business. I hadn't don't anything wrong other than be pretty vocal with him around his inappropriate advance on my date.
'We were sat in the car and I'm thinking I need to get out of the car park, or there is a good chance I might get really hurt here.
'Adrenaline takes over, and I think if I drive at them they are going to move. They are not going to get run over for this guy.

'I drove at them, they jumped out of the way at the last minute. They were banging on the car. I just got round them and out.'
However, the gang chased them back to the hotel where Matthews and Sophie hid under his bed, in scenes he compares to the film Taken.
The bodyguards banged on a number of guests' doors in pursuit of Matthews - whose father David and mother Jane own the hotel. Eventually, they found his suite.
Matthews added: 'We got back to the hotel, she is wildly upset. She's crying and crying, I wasn't feeling great either.
'I called my friends who run the Feeling and they said it was Gaddafi's son and it later turns out that he told him who I was, that my dad owned Eden Roc.

'I wasn't aware it was him. Lo and behold, 20 minutes, half an hour goes by, and we hear banging on doors on the hotel and they are going door to door.
'I can hear clients shouting and screaming. So we get under the bed. You know the scene in Taken.
'He came to the door. I was thinking if I open this door they might kill me. We stayed under the bed, everything calmed down. She wasn't happy, it wasn't a good date.'
The following day, after Matthews shaved his long hair off so not to be recognised, he came face to face with Gaddafi junior at his private party where Beyonce was performing for him.
