David de Gea has emerged as a top target for Steven Gerrard's Al-Ettifaq, according to reports.
The Spaniard, 32, has been without a club since leaving Manchester United when his contract expired in the summer.
De Gea, who remains a free agent, has previously attracted interest from Bayern Munich and clubs in the Saudi Pro League.
And The Sun reports other Saudi sides are ready to launch a bid to sign the goalkeeper if Al-Ettifaq fail to meet his wage demands.
It is also claimed De Gea recently turned down an opportunity to earn a bumper pay packet and reunite with former Man United star Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr.

Though a reported contract in region of £500,000-a-week would prove even more lucrative than his deal at Old Trafford, De Gea is said to have snubbed the chance to join the club with his wife not interested in moving to the Middle East.
Saudi Arabia international Nawaf Al-Aqidi has started 11 of Al-Nassr's league games this season, but has managed just three clean sheets in that time as the club sit second in the table.
A move to the MLS is also said to be on the table for De Gea, with David Beckham's Inter Miami said to be interested in bringing the former Spain international to the DRV PNK Stadium.
De Gea officially left Old Trafford in July after his contract expired in June. He had been in talks with United over a deal until his departure was confirmed.
United's stars were said to have been shocked at the manner of his exit, given he played 545 times for the club and whose 190 clean sheets are a record.
Erik ten Hag opted to sign Andre Onana from Inter Milan for £43m in the summer as De Gea's replacement but the Cameroonian has endured a mixed start to his career at United.
