Second-year coach Adam Kingsley will do anything to rediscover the Orange Tsunami that almost propelled GWS all the way into an AFL grand final, including going to great heights to find it again.

The Giants shot out of the blocks to start the 2024 AFL season after just falling short of making last year's decider, but have since tapered off and have slipped to sixth place on the ladder.

That could be what prompted Kingsley to take a very different approach to training this week.

The mentor was spotted on the roof at the Giants' Western Sydney training base on Tuesday, with the social media team bringing out the camera to record the curious moment.

GWS Giants coach Adam Kingsley decided on a new way to watch training on Tuesday

The Giants mentor is trying to rediscover the club's Orange Tsunami and is looking for it from every possible angle

'Adam Kingsley is currently on the roof. Don't know why. Content coming,' the club posted.

The social media team later revealed that Kingsley had told them:  'I got a better view of training, leave me alone.'

It was a curious sight for all Giants fans, with plenty commenting on the puzzling moment.

'Something you don't see everyday,' one posted.

'That's a new one. Whatever works,' added another.

'Take him to Worksafe!'  joked another.

Giants fans will be hoping that Kingsley finds the key to reversing their recent slip in form ahead of the club's clash with Geelong this weekend.

Fans will be hoping the unique approach to training will return the club to the form that saw it surge deep into the AFL finals in 2023

The Giants had a slow start to the 2023 season, but their campaign ignited when they played Geelong at around the same time.

Assistant coach Brett Montgomery is confident they can rediscover their signature Orange Tsunami playing style when the road warriors travel to Geelong on Saturday.

'It was this round last year where we [travelled] down to Geelong,' Montgomery said on Monday.

'We were really struggling for system. We were trying to get some depth in our roles, some attachment to how it is we want to play and have it run a bit deeper.

'We think we worked through that quite well last year. You saw what happened in the second half of the year.

'We put the foot down, we made some adjustments and we just got some of that real nasty, high-level hunt back in our game.

'We're there again. We're at that point in our season where that needs to return pretty quickly, amongst a range of other things we're dealing with.'
