Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane weather: Cold weather warning issued

1 month ago 14

A strong cold front moving across the country will keep temperatures low throughout the weekend.

A cold front is moving into South Australia and will bring a few showers and thunderstorms, primarily along the coastal areas, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

The system will spread across Victoria and NSW this weekend, but it won't be as intense as previous cold fronts and won't extend far inland.

As for the winds barraging the country's south-east, particularly New South Wales' Central Coast, conditions should start to ease from Thursday afternoon.

'A low pressure system over the Tasman Sea is causing those strong winds across the NSW coast and gusts in south-east Queensland,' Weatherzone meteorologist Yoska Hernández told Daily Mail Australia.

'Today, those gusty winds around Sydney will start to ease in the afternoon and further weaken to light winds tomorrow.'

Large areas from Central Queensland down to southern Victoria are set to see frost on Friday morning, as well as Western Australia's south.

A strong cold front moving across the country is set to cause temperatures to remain cold over the weekend.
