Most of Australia is set to be dry for the remainder of the week as the threat of a cyclone hitting the country's northeast significantly drops.
On Thursday morning, the Bureau of Meteorology advised that Tropical Cyclone Paul, currently sitting east of Queensland's coast, is weakening.
The system is slowly tracking northeast towards the Coral Sea and is not expected to make landfall in Queensland.
'Paul is located more than 1000 km to the east northeast of Cairns and currently poses no direct threat to the Australian mainland or any of its external territories,' Weatherzone meteorologist Ben Domensino said.
'At this stage, Tropical Cyclone Paul should weaken from Friday onwards and is expected to have wakened below tropical cyclone strength by Saturday.'

The Georgina, Moonie River, Weir rivers and Eyre Creek are under a moderate flood warning while minor flooding is forecast for the Thomson River, Dawson River and Cooper Creek.
Dangerous surf conditions are expected on the Byron, Coffs, Macquarie, Sydney, Illawarra and Batemans coasts on Friday.
