Tennis legend Martina Navratilova isn't buying Donald Trump's enormous ear bandage at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee following the failed assassination attempt on the ex-President in Pennsylvania over the weekend.

Responding to a comment on X, the winner of 18 major singles titles described Trump's bandage as a 'PR stunt,' which drew criticism from conservatives online.

Specifically, Navratilova was accused of minimizing the attempt on Trump's life.

'An ungracious comment that does you no favours,' an Englishman wrote on X.

The LGBTQ+ icon then repeated the false claim that Trump was seen golfing after the failed assassination attempt.

Trump's ear bandage has been a major talking point at the ongoing RNC in Milwaukee

'The day before he wore nothing or a small bandaid (sic) no one could see while playing golf,' she wrote on X. 'My stance on any kind of violence and also guns is pretty clear and knows no favor. Thank you.'

The photo Navratilova was referring to was revealed to have been taken in 2022.

The 67-year-old native of Prague is not the only person suspicious of the large white bandage on Trump's right ear, where he appeared to get shot on Saturday. A TMZ report claimed that the blood on Trump's ear was the result of glass from a teleprompter that was destroyed in the shooting, which killed one spectator but failed to take down the former President.

'A good friend of mine is the charge nurse (Level IV FNP) at a major trauma center in a huge city,' read the original comment that Navratilova reposted. 'She says there's absolutely no need to dress an ear wound like this, unless half his ear was blown off. And even then, it wouldn't look like this.'

Navratilova also suspects that Trump was not actually struck by the bullet, despite the former President's claim to the contrary.

'Correction – there was an abominable assassination attempt and the bullet grazed the prompter and a shard from that hit trump's ear.

'Next day he played golf with no visible damage,' she continued, again referring to the debunked photo from 2022. 'And after that he put the bandage on for the convention…'

The extent of Trump's injuries have not been publicized. His campaign has refused to discuss his condition or release a medical report related to the shooting.

On his own social media platform, Trump claimed he was struck by the bullet in his ear.

'I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin,' he wrote.
