Ben Foster has claimed that he knows which two goalkeepers Pep Guardiola would pick if he was to become England manager.
England are preparing to travel to Germany for Euro 2024 at the end of the season, having finished their qualifying campaign unbeaten having topped their group in the latest international break.
Gareth Southgate’s side remain on the hunt for their first silverware since 1966, having reached a World Cup semi-final and Euros final during his tenure.
It is understood that the tournament may signal Southgate’s last games in charge of the national team, with Mail Sport reporting that the FA are dreaming of appointing the current Manchester City manager as his successor.
And were Guardiola to take over from Southgate, he would have a number of selection decisions to make, with former England goalkeeper Foster suggesting on the Fozcast that his choice of goalkeepers could raise a few eyebrows.

Foster claimed that 'the way Guardiola wants to play' means two uncapped goalkeepers could be given a chance shoud he take the job
‘I think if we had Pep Guardiola as England manager, we would win tournaments,’ Foster, who retired earlier this season following a short stint with Wrexham, said.
‘He could pick anybody. I think he could pick (Jason) Steele at Brighton, or (James) Trafford at Burnley, genuinely. He would completely change it.’
Jordan Pickford, Aaron Ramsdale and Sam Johnstone have been Southgate’s three goalkeepers of choice in recent times, though the position has been hotly debated throughout his tenure.
Trafford, 21, is enduring a difficult start to his time in the Premier League with Burnley, but is a regular with England’s U21 side and won the U21 European Championships in the summer, saving a penalty in the final.
Steele, meanwhile, is 33 and has never been capped by England, but is a key member of Brighton’s side under Roberto de Zerbi.
The key attribute both players hold is that they are comfortable with the ball at their feet. Guardiola often relies on Ederson at City to be part of his side’s build-up play.

‘Have you seen the way Steele does it for Brighton, by the way?’ Foster added. ‘It’s outrageous.
‘That’s the style of play he wants to go with. That’s interesting, isn’t it? That is a can of worms.’
Trafford’s Burnley face West Ham at home as Premier League football returns this weekend following the international break, with the Clarets having lost every one of their home games since their return to the Premier League.
Steele’s Brighton will travel to Nottingham Forest, but are without a clean sheet in the league so far this season.
