A huge pile of rubbish bags outside a student accommodation block have sparked fears of a possible rat infestation.

Footage showed hundreds of black bags piled up outside Grand Felda House in Wembley, north west London, which charges students up to £494 a week.

The enormous pile of litter included Waitrose shopping bags, a discarded box of Quaker oats, plastic bottles, flattened cardboard boxes and takeaway containers.

A clip showing the mess was posted by mother Jaquie Finn on X, formerly Twitter along with a message describing it as a 'health and safety nightmare' and suggesting that the building had a rat infestation.

She told MailOnline: 'My son and his friends are there and it's dreadful.
