England fans back home and even in Magaluf got into the Euros spirit as they wore replica shirts and raised pints of beer to cheer on the Three Lions against Slovakia in Germany.
Up to 3,000 supporters have descended on the Road to Victory fan zone in Manchester city centre at the Diecast venue.
While supporters wearing replica England away shirts from the 1990 World Cup were among the fans packed into the Boxpark in Wembley, London.
Meanwhile, hundreds of holidaymakers took a pause from their break in the Spanish sun as they sat on benches in Magaluf to cheer on Gareth Southgate's men.
The optimism of thousands of fans soon turned to shock as wide-mouthed supporters screamed in despair as Slovakia's Ivan Schranz opened the scoring in the 25th minute.

There were huge groans at the Escape to Freight Island fan zone near Manchester Piccadilly station as Slovakia scored.
Fans held their heads in their hands and one threw his pint of beer down in anger.
Builder Zach Brown, 27, said: 'They've been the better side. We've disappointed again so far. It's devastating to think we might go out.
'If we lose, at least we should go down fighting. Gareth needs to pull his finger out and make changes. Get Gordon on, get Palmer on.'
Shop worker Lisa Harrison, 27, said: 'I still believe we can do it. It's only 1-0 and there's a long way to go.'
Accountant Sam Ellis, 34, who was wearing a red 1982 World Cup shirt, was among the thousands of fans at the Road to Victory fan zone in the city centre at the Diecast venue
He was full of optimism ahead of kick off and said: 'I'm nervous but excited.
'If we lose, at least we should go down fighting.
'Gareth needs to pull his finger out and make changes. Get Gordon on, get Palmer on.'
Shop worker Lisa Harrison, 27, said: 'I still believe we can do it.
'It's only 1-0 and there's a long way to go.'
'I just hope the boys shape themselves and put in a performance to make us proud.
'We're so much better than we've shown and I praying we can win.'
IT worker Matt Wilkinson, 27, said: 'I just hope the team can finally play like we know they can.
'I'm desperate for us to win but Slovakia are a tough nut to crack.

Student Megan Palmer, 20, who was wearing a retro Euro 96 shirt, said: 'I'm very nervous but hope we can do it.
'Bellingham's gonna be the match winner.'
Thousands of fans also crammed into the Escape to Freight Island fan zone near Manchester Piccadilly station.
Hairdresser Sarah Wolstenholme, 24, said: 'I'm willing the boys to do it.
'I'm hopeful we can. I think Bellingham's going to score and we'll win 3-0.'
Her friend Poppy Hughes, 23, who was wearing a red England shirt, said: 'It's very exciting and I believe we'll win.
'I just don't want penalties - I don't think I could handle it.
'It's a great way to spend Sunday afterboon - cheering on the lads and having a few drinks.'
