Thibaut Courtois will miss the European Championships next month after being left out of Belgium's provisional 25-man squad for the tournament.

On Tuesday, Belgium manager Domenico Tedesco selected a fresh-faced squad that will contest the Euros in Germany In June.

Premier League winners Kevin de Bruyne and Jeremy Doku have been called up as Belgium will start the tournament in Group E, which includes Ukraine, Slovakia, and Romania.

12 stars from England's top-flight have made the squad, including the likes of  Leandro Trossard, Youri Tielemans, and Amadou Onana.

However, 32-year-old Courtois, who has been capped 102 times for his country, has been omitted from the squad.

The Real Madrid goalkeeper missed the majority of his club campaign due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury he picked up last August.

Courtois did return to action with Los Blancos in May, however, despite coming back before the end of the season, Tedesco has decided to leave him out.

The Belgian coach does not have the strongest of relationships with Courtois, with tensions rising after Tedesco did not give the keeper the captaincy for two friendlies last year.

Things then escalated when Courtois accused his boss of lying via social media after Tedesco claimed was trying his hardest to bring the keeper back into the national side.

Courtois played a major part in Belgium's golden generation, but Koen Casteels, Thomas Kaminski, and Matz Sels are the chosen keepers to represent the country this summer.

The squad is a lot younger than the ones we are used to seeing from the Red Devils, but they have called on some experienced players.

36-year-old Jan Vertonghen, who is the country's most-capped player appearing 154 times, will make the trip to Germany.

Tedesco has also called upon Belgium's all-time top scorer, Romelu Lukaku, just after his loan at Roma from Chelsea came to an end.

However, a striker who once wore the blue of the west London side has missed out on the 25-man squad, Michy Batshuayi.

The Red Devils will be looking to improve on their last two outings at major international Championships.

They didn't even make it out of the group stage at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, finishing thrid in Group F behind semi-finalists Morocco and also Croatia.

At Euro 2020, they made it to the quarter-final stage where they were knocked outby eventual winnrs Italy.
