Fans have spotted an incredible similarity between Lamine Yamal's superb goal against France and another one he netted for Spain just last year.

The Barcelona star shone as Spain booked their place in the Euro 2024 final with a 2-1 win against Didier Deschamps' men.

Yamal made European Championship history on Tuesday night when he became the youngest scorer in the competition's history.

The Spain wonderkid, aged just 16 years and 362 days, broke that record in style by finding the net with a stunning long-range strike against France.

Footage has now resurfaced of his goal against Les Bleus in the semi-finals of the Under-17 European Championship last year.

Similar to his strike on Tuesday night, Yamal cut in from the right and found the top corner from distance, though France went on to claim a 3-1 win.

And fans on social media did not hold back on their praise for Yamal after the footage emerged on social media.

One said: 'This is scary! What a talent this kid is though', while another wrote, 'The new goat in town at 16 years old'.

A third posted: 'A new superstar we will all be enjoying for years to come!'.

Prior to Yamal, Switzerland's Johan Vonlanthen had held the record as the youngest scorer at a men's European Championship.

Vonlanthen was aged 18 years and 141 days when he found the net at Euro 2004, also against France.

Just four minutes after Yamal's goal, Dani Olmo netted the winner via a deflection off Jules Kounde to book Spain's place in Sunday's final.

Yamal and Co will now take on either England or the Netherlands in Berlin as they aim to win their fourth European Championship.
