Tom Brady was given a look at what might have been as he dreamt of a hypothetical hall of fame baseball career with the Montreal Expos in an advert for a new range of trading cards.

The promo portrays what would have happened if the seven-time Super Bowl champion chose a career in baseball instead. The script for the campaign translates Brady's accomplishments on the gridiron to a hypothetical career on the diamond.

The scene opens in a Montreal dive bar where Expos fans reminisced of Brady's glory days with the team.

Fans recalled how Brady won three MVP awards, had seven World Series victories, made 650 homeruns and kept the franchise in Montreal as the cameras panned through newspaper cutouts, signed memorabilia and trophies as relics of his incredible tenure.

Hall of Famers and former Expos stars Larry Walker, Pedro Martinez and Vladimir Guerrero were also featured reminiscing about Brady’s greatness. In the alternative universe, the Trio reacted to a car commercial starring Brady and scoffed about his two losses to the Giants.

In 1995, the Montreal Expos drafted a high school catcher named Tom Brady. Now, a new baseball card campaign imagines a world where the NFL legend chose the diamond over the gridiron.

Montreal Expos legends Larry Walker, Pedro Martinez and Vladimir Guerrero made cameos

The Expos drafted Brady out of high school in 1995 but he opted to play football in Michigan

The bit referred to Brady's Super Bowl losses to the New York Giants in 2008 and 2012. But in this case, Brady let his fanbase down in two World Series meetings against the San Francisco-based MLB team.

The clip ends with Brady's alarm clock ringing at 12:12, in reference to Brady Day, as the retired quarterback wakes up from the dream.

It is then followed by a shot of Brady's Expos card with the words 'What might have been could be yours' on the right side.

The clever idea for the promo sprung from the Expos drafting Brady out of high school in 1995. A powerful left-hand-batting catcher, Brady impressed Expos scouts which led the franchise to select him in the 18th round of the 1995 MLB Draft.

In the same year, the University of Michigan courted Brady to play for their football team.

Brady chose football and went on to win seven Super Bowls during his Hall of Fame career

Brady chose to throw the pigskin in Ann Arbor rather than pursuing an MLB career north of the border, a decision that led to a historic football career.

Brady is widely considered as the best quarterback in NFL history.

Other than the accolades that were referenced in the campaign, Brady was named the Super Bowl MVP five times and made 15 Pro Bowl appearances on top of numerous NFL milestones.

The Expos were established in 1969 as the first MLB team based outside the United States.

After 35 years in Montreal, the franchise relocated to Washington DC and became what is now the Washington Nationals. The franchise won it's first and only title in 2019.
