U.S. comedian Andrew Schulz has revealed the reason behind Tom Brady's fury at Jeff Ross in the ex-quarterback's Netflix roast, claiming that all guests on stage were warned to not make any jokes about New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft.
On Sunday, Brady, 45, publicly showed that he didn't approve of Ross' joke on Kraft 'liking' happy endings at the end of massages, as initially reported back in 2019, by going up to the podium and telling the comedian to 'not do that s**t again,' in front of the audience.
The moment was even compared to Will Smith's infamous Oscar spat with Kevin Hart, who was at Brady's roast among other comics, including Schulz.
On Thursday, Schulz opened up about the incident.
'When Tom [Brady] checked Jeff Ross, I think that was 100 percent real,' he said at first. 'The reason why I think it's real is 'cause they told us ''No jokes about happy endings with Bob Kraft.'' 'Cause I had a Bob Kraft tag.'
Andrew Schulz opened up about Tom Brady's fury at Jeff Ross in public during his roast, Sun.
Schulz believes that the moment was '100 percent real' because he couldn't do a joke on Kraft
Schultz added: 'I had that joke about Randy Moss: ''Randy Moss you make Super Bowl Sundays the only people celebrating a happy ending with a priest.'' And the tag was, of course, Bob Kraft.
'And they were like ''Tom asked not to do anything with the massage s**t.'' I was like ''Aight, cool. Like the guy is coming here for this thing, whatever. He's not getting roasted, he's sitting in the f***ing stands, like aight.
'And then Jeff did it, and then Tom walks up and he goes ''Yo cut that s**t out.'' Or ''Don't do that again.'' But think about it, this is the first comic that goes on a live roast, and it's your night.
'He was ready to shut the whole thing down. That's an alpha a** move right there.'
A former Patriots wideout said the reunion of Brady, Kraft and Bill Belichick proved to be frosty
It was later revealed by former Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman that Brady's Netflix roast provided a frosty reunion with the six-time Super Bowl champion, Kraft and his former head coach, Bill Belichick.
'The tension in that room though — could cut f***ing glass,' Edelman said on his Games with Names podcast alongside guest and former Patriots QB Drew Bledsoe.
Belichick agreed to leave the Patriots at the end of at the 2023 NFL Season after a woeful regular season record (4-13), putting an end to his 24-year tenure in New England, where he won six Super Bowls with Brady and Kraft.
Brady and Belichick will both take on roles within the media in the fall, as analysts.
