Argentina won the game 1-0 after extra-time to secure a record 16th Copa America title. But the game was marred by the chaos engulfing supporters.

Miami mayor Daniella Levine Cava was left 'outraged' by the terrifying crowd issues that saw fans breaching security gates.

Videos posted on social media showed fans jumping over security railings near the southwest entrance of the stadium and running past police officers and stadium attendants.

Screams could be heard in the background of footage captured around the stadium as people were crushed because of the huge congestion.

The stadium is due to be a venue for the 2026 World Cup but the scenes have sparked fears that the US is not ready for the arrival of millions of fans for the biggest sporting event in the world.
