With their search for a new coach in full swing, another potential candidate shut the door on the USMNT opening.
After getting dumped out of the 2024 Copa America, the United States team parted ways with coach Gregg Berhalter. His dismissal leaves US Soccer Federation scouting for the next person to take over what many claim to be the 'golden age' of the team.
On Friday, Canada head coach Jesse Marsch was quick to shut down links with the opening south of the Canadian border.
'I'm not leaving this job,' Marsch said. 'I have no interest in the US job.'
His lack of interest towards the job comes as no surprise given he was turned down for the position in the past.

In 2022, Marsch interviewed for the then-vacant position at the expiration of Berhalter's old contract. However, the USSF opted to bring Berhalter for a second tenure - a decision that blew up in their face this year.
This past May, the American-born Marsch blasted the USMNT and USSF over his experience during the interview process, saying he 'wasn't treated very well.'
Nevertheless, he found immediate success up north, guiding Canada to the Copa America semifinals in their first tournament appearance. Despite losing to Argentina, Canada did much better than the US, who got eliminated behind consecutive losses to Panama and Uruguay in the group stage.

Embarrassment painted the Americans' campaign as they became the first host nation to be eliminated in the group stage in tournament history.
'And to be fair, unless there's a big shift in the organization, I don't think that I'll ever have any interest in that job in the future,' Marsch added. 'So I'm really happy here, I couldn't be happier actually in terms of what it's like to work with the leaders in this organization and what it's like to work with this team.'
Aside from his international experience, Marsch has an impressive club coaching resume. The Racine, Wisconsin native has coached the New York Red Bulls in MLS, Leeds in England, Red Bull Leipzig in Germany, and Red Bull Salzburg in Austria.

To add insult to their Copa America exit, US Soccer was reportedly shut down by Jurgen Klopp after approaching the former Liverpool coach over the opening.
After the ambitious shot bricked, the vacancy was linked to Marsch, Mauricio Pochettino, and Gareth Southgate - who is leading England in the UEFA Euros final against Spain on Sunday.
'I'm at a point in my life where I don't need all the other bulls***,' Marsch said after Monday's loss.
'I want to do things I want to do. I want to get back to loving the game that I love, and this team has helped me find that, and I'm very thankful for that.'
