Tottenham are closing on an agreement with Leeds United for Archie Gray in a deal which will be worth around £30million plus defender Joe Rodon going the other way in a separate deal worth £10m.
Ipswich and Leicester have also been interested in Wales international Rodon who spent last season on loan at Elland Road.
Tottenham opened talks for Gray on Sunday after Leeds rejected a £35m offer from Brentford because of the payment structure.
Gray had travelled to undergo his Brentford medical on Saturday evening and the proposed move caused outcry from Leeds supporters disgruntled at the deal their club were willing to accept for the 18-year-old.
Gray's preference was a move to Spurs and talks accelerated on Sunday.
He is set to sign a six-year contract with the north London club once the deal is finalised.
Leeds maintained they did not need to sell for profit and sustainability rules (PSR) after offloading Marc Roca to Real Betis and Charle Cresswell to Toulouse but they have to trim their budget ahead of next season.
Rennes want Glen Kamara also while they are expected to sell Junior Firpo and either Patrick Bamford or Joel Piroe amid interest from abroad.
