Tottenham have held further talks over a potential move for Nice centre back Jean-Clair Todibo.
The 23-year old, who is also on the lists of Newcastle United and Manchester United, was sent off on Sunday as his side fell to a 3-1 defeat at Le Havre, leaving Nice five points off leaders Paris St Germain.
The red card won't deter suitors though who have been impressed by his renaissance back in the French league. He is a huge fan favourite at the Allianz Riviera and is valued around £35million.
That may be too rich for some in January but his representatives are understood to have held further talks with Tottenham officials early last week to establish how much he is wanted.
Tottenham are looking to add three players ideally next month but centre back is pressing with Eric Dier likely to run down his contract, Micky van de Ven and Ashley Phillips injured and Cristian Romero continually walking a tightrope with suspension.

They have a number of defensive options they have been discussing but know Todibo is keen to join Ange Postecoglou's rejuvenated squad.
Spurs would also like another midfielder and forward.
They are aware that the Saudi Pro League would still like to recruit striker Richarlison but would be loath to lose him at this juncture particularly as he finds goalscoring form.
Al Ittihad were keen on the Brazilian in September as their pursuit of Liverpool's Mo Salah hit an impasse and the 26-year old remains a target.

They had targeted former Liverpool director Julian Ward but he is understood to be reluctant to uproot his young family at this stage.
Congerton, who previously worked at Liverpool and Leicester City, has been one of the names under consideration for a role at Manchester United along with Newcastle’s Dan Ashworth.
