A mother-of-two teenagers has been killed in a head-on crash just around the corner from where her family were building their dream home.

Sarah Maas' white Toyota Camry collided with a Jeep Cherokee, whose 54-year-old male driver also died, at around 5.10am on Thursday.

The tragedy happened on Muchea East Road in Lower Chittering, Western Australia, 60kilometres north-east of the state capital Perth

The 47-year-old was 'a hardworking, loving mother and loving wife to her husband, who misses her greatly now,' her nephew Nathan Maas said after the accident.

Mr Maas made a plea for road safety as he paid tribute to his aunt. 'Just be careful out on the roads.

Sarah Maas' nephew Nathan Maas (pictured) said his aunt was 'a hardworking, loving mother and loving wife to her husband, who misses her greatly now'

'(The) best we can all do is keep an eye out on the roads and try to do our best to not be idiots,' he told 9News.

'(There are) two families now (whose) parents aren't coming home.'

Ms Maas, who had been married for 18 years to a farmer, had been on her way to work at a local service station, but had done a u-turn shortly before the crash.

The police do not believe that either driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs or using their mobile phone at the time of the crash.

Sarah's niece Darlene Tuffin posted a tribute to Facebook, saying: 'Rest in peace, you'll be missed by all, sending love to both families involved.'
